DePuy ASR Trial News

The first trial seeking damages from the DePuy ASR hip recall began on January 25, 2013. This case is one of more than ten thousand cases around the country tried by a jury. At Kershaw, Cook & Talley, we monitored the trial very closely and posted video updates here on our site.

Mr. Loren Kransky’s case was involved with the first trial. Mr. Kransky is a Montana resident who underwent left total hip surgery on December 5, 2007. He was implanted with a DePuy ASR hip during the procedure. After the ASR was recalled, Mr. Kransky had blood tests which revealed dangerously elevated levels of cobalt and chromium in the range of 40 to 50 parts per billion (almost 40 times greater than normal).

In February 2012, less than 5 years after receiving the implant, he underwent revision surgery to remove the defective ASR hip. He now seeks damages associated with this revision surgery.

If you, or a loved one, was implanted with a DePuy hip implant, please check this page on a regular basis to stay apprised of the significant developments in the Kransky vs. DePuy hip case.
